Right, right.

[ Shizuo'll just pull the sheet that's used as a bit of a divider from the bed to the rest of the area. Whether he gets sleep will be up for debate, but he'll be cleaned up and packed when morning comes.

He's not sure if Hak will need the help waking up, but he's ready if that's the case. At least some basics that don't require an oven are ready and together. Fruit, jerky, simple things that are easy to carry around. Skeins of water for when they're actually on the road. ]

[Hak's fine waking up. He feels a little sore and tired, but that's just normal. He slowly sits up on the bed and groans to stand up, hands on his lower back. Looking to the sheet, he slowly pulls it away and looks at him.]

Ready to go?

[ Hearing the groan, Shizuo hurries to finish dressing before the sheet gets pulled back again. He's fully covered by the time Hak asks anything, and most of what few personal items that were in the space were now gone. ]

Yeah. You gonna be okay? I figured sleeping in a bed would help your back.

[hakingitup]

What'll help with my back the most is not being pregnant.

[He shakes his head and runs his fingers through his hair to push it back.]

Yeah. Let's just go.

How far along are you, anyway?

[ He'll get his own pack and stuff on before picking up Hak's. ]

Five, six months.

[He moves to take his stuff, not wanting Shizuo to carry everything.]

And you're-

[ Wait. They were still pretty south in the water tribe, no matter how they were along the border. While he didn't expect the guy's pack to be grabbed out of his hand, instead of the alpha instinct that may have come about, he shakes it off and opens the door for them to head out. ]

I'm not sure how far into the other tribe you have to go, but you're really gonna be cutting it close, huh?

I am.

[He shakes his head and puts his pack on his back as he heads out.]

It's my only option. Let's go.

Yeah, yeah.

[ He just has to lock the door behind them on the way out- the key was left inside, as the owner can get there through the inner door to the back of the inn. Officially closing that large part of his life... And leading Hak to the right Northside entrance, that usually didn't have a bunch of drugged up people trying to get their next fix, or caught up in their current one.

In other words, not the main road for the moment. ]

I can't imagine carrying the bag's helping with that back pain, though.

...God, you really are an alpha.

[He shakes his head and moves to toss him his pack. He keeps his polearm, though. Just because it's his and he feels better gripping it.]

But no, it wasn't. I just didn't want you to have to carry everything.

[ He catches the pack, feeling defensive but also manages to look smaller from the reaction. Slinging it over his shoulder, he keeps his head down instead of even looking to the omega. Well, most alpha traits were suppressed under those medicines. ]

Sometimes I'd have to carry a draft horse over to the smith to get one of the shoes replaced, or back to their owner due to an injury. A bag or two really isn't anything.

[He notices him trying to shrink down. Trying to get smaller and act defensive and not even look at him. And he realized what he did.]

...Sorry. For years, I was trained to act like an alpha, if only to satisfy my own desires. I'm... defensive.

[He didn't want to make Shizuo upset.]

Maybe it's even better that I'm staying on the suppressants, then.

[ Which was easy to think when you lived in a town that tried to stamp down and out as much of that nature as possible, while using what was left to their advantages. Instead of looking back to Hak, he just shrugged a shoulder and continued to look forward and to the sides to make sure no one was coming through the flora. ]

You said it hurt because of the kid, or kids. It'd be easier to move if you weren't weighed down by even more stuff to hurt it.

It is. I'd like to never act submissive again.

[But he knows that's not going to happen. Eventually there's going to be an alpha who gets too close to him and he gets assaulted with his scent.]

Yeah. This... belly is getting to be too much.

Well, you won't have to while I'm around. No one will force you to.

[ There was also a chance of not being able to get all of the tonics and medicines he took to suppress his complete nature. However, if he's lived this way, even going off of it would have him acting more submissive than your standard alpha in the first place. ]

If that's the case, don't be too defensive or stubborn to let me know if it's keeping you from getting something done. It's not like you can help it being in the way. You'll get to that place in the earth tribe no matter what.

...So what, you'd be willing to carry me?

[Just testing the waters here, seeing what he's willing to do. Not that he wants to be carried, but he might have to if these keep growing any bigger.]

If it came to that, yeah. I said I'd escort and get you there already, so I'll keep to that.

[ He's a good, sincere boy that does as he says. ]

...I appreciate that, but please don't. Unless I really can't move.

[Again. Not wanting to be submissive.]

[ He's not really hoping to do any of that right now, though. ]

You don't have to worry about it as long as you can walk.

Then I'll make sure to walk until I can't stand any longer.

[Hak is pushing it, but it's probably the Alpha he was raised as.]

That's... Honestly up to you. I think I've made it clear that I'm not going to fight or challenge you.

[ He doesn't have that kind of mental strength or energy, and his instincts are far too buried to fuel him doing such. ]

Feel free to act as much of a pregnant alpha as you'd like.

[He really needs to kick this habit of his. But he's too worried about getting himself or his child seriously hurt to even try it.]

I really don't have it in me to try.

[ He'll even glance over to say that- if Hak hadn't seen just how strong those suppressants are, it's a lot more clear in his eyes. However, even with it, mocking just isn't in his personality. ]

You're pregnant and you said you were raised as an alpha. You're gonna end up acting like both most of the time unless you decide otherwise.

...Yeah, considering I can't control acting pregnant at all.

[Because that's just a fact of life. He looks towards him, and sighs.]

We'll be walking all day. I think there's a village two days away we can stay in for a night.

[ Well, it's a good thing Hak understands which part was for the 'decide otherwise' comment. ]

Two days if we make good distance, yeah. It might take a third, depending on your back.
