[ That's certainly an offer he's not used to getting, and it shows with his expression. Of course he reasons it's out of guilt, or something like that, but still.

It... Was hard to say no. ]

[ Has he not been asked out to coffee before? Alex chuckles, but not to make fun of him. ]

What time are you off? Maybe that can be one of your sometimes.

[ You never know how delicate one might be about their coffee offers, after all. ]

That could actually be a while from now. Sometimes it's as late as 3am.

[ It depended on the business flow, really. ]

I’ll see you after three then, .....? [ She holds her hand out, waiting for him to fill in the blanks. ]

[ Generally humans wanted to pass out after closing a store, but Shizuo didn't really have the experience in telling pretty ladies no. Which is why, while he hesitates a moment, he loosely accepts the hand. ]

Shizuo. If you're really so sure...

Alex. And yes, I’m positive.

[ Maybe too positive, which was why the moment she let’s go and returns to her seat, back turned to him, she starts to question her life choices.

She’s lured meb before, yes, but why did this feel like she was asking the guy out on a date? Why did she feel so...giddy? Hell, she hadn’t even gone through her first beer. Maybe it’s just been too long since she last fed.

She’ll go through another two beers, watching Shizuo as he worked, but also not giving him too much attention. That would be creepy. She really needed to get her act together.

It seemed like forever till the clock finally sturck 3...]

[ For all that positivity and anticipation, she would notice that Shizuo was very... normal. Almost mundane, if it weren't for the strength he showed when dealing with the rowdier customers. Almost kind, for how he'd call cabs and such, but had limited patience for nonsensical types that would blather on and gloated about those they've taken advantage of.

Shizuo wasn't aware if he was being watched or not, but he made note of how Alex was around the entire evening. Enough for a couple more drinks, and still there as the last customer was out (a little earlier than 3) and he'd cleaned the entire bar for the next crew that would be coming in. Not without saying goodbye to the boss, of course, but being ready meant he was still in the bartender uniform, without any actual changes to his appearance. It seemed he dressed for work before getting to the location instead of when he got there. ]

You didn't have to hang around the entire time if you had other things to do, y'know. Are you going to be okay for this?

[ He'd feel bad if she lost an evening catching up with friends, or something, just because she'd agreed to get coffee. That, or maybe she would've wanted a nap. Who knows. ]

[But normal was so enticing to her. She's used to terrible things, nasty things. Whatever violence he showed was just to help out. He took care of even the drunks, helping them into their cabs, cutting them off when he needed to. It was pleasant to watch.

He really was a good guy. So for the first time a long time, she contemplated on whether what she was doing was okay or not. Her instincts said one thing, but she felt guiltier than usual.

She'll place her glasses over the sink for him while he's attending to others, and when he cleans up and goes somewhere to the back, she gets up and starts adjusting some chairs that seemed out of place. It wasn't really something she thought about--just that if she could help him a little, that wouldn't be so bad.

Once she hears his voice, she turns around, snapping out of her thoughts. ]

Ah--yes! [ She clears her throat, straightening up. ] I am. Are you though? [Her tone is a bit more playful now, a habit really. ]

Yeah?

[ He seemed to have missed the playful intention in the tone of her voice, and sounded more confused than anything. Being able to watch over, Alex would've been able to realize that Shizuo was just as direct as he was normal, if you discount the strength he displayed earlier. ]

Um. Thanks for helping with cleaning up before. You didn't have to do that.

[ Which is why he was thanking her. Opening the door, he sets the lock up on the inside so that it closes up while they leave. ]

[ He was right. She didn't have to do it, and yet she didn't even think twice. What's more, she didn't actually expect him to thank her for it either. ]

Oh..It's okay. I didn't really..It wasn't much.

[ There's a moment where she pulls back, almost feeling shy, but she quickly shakes head to snap out of it, sliding her arm under his as she walks out to pull him away from the door. ]

Got a place in mind or are you alright with me just kidnapping you?

[ He doesn't really think much of it, and wasn't really used to the gesture, so it's rather easy to pull him away from the door to start walking in... Whichever direction. ]

Honestly, I don't know which places are open now. Usually I... head straight home.

[ And it's in this moment where he realized that that... Kind of sounded pathetic. ]

[ She stops at the end of the sidewalk, peeking up at him. It wasn't so much pathetic really, but... wouldn't that make this task so much easier? ]

[ For a moment, he didn't realize the implications. In a way, he didn't even while they were stopped, having thought more about the question itself. ]

[ Wait. She wanted to go to his apartment? Really? That was something that never happened before. It really was just for coffee and to relax, right? ]

It's a bit of a walk. You sure you're going to be okay?

[ Well, she was aiming for a drink of some kind, so he wasn't wrong. Anything else was just a plus. ]

As long as you let me kick off my heels once we get there, I'll be fine.

[ She steps forward and turns, tugging at his arm. ]

So? Are we going or what? [ Her voice may have had a hint of excitement in it. ]

Yeah, that'd be fine.

[ Weren't you supposed to take shoes off at the door anyway? Getting the small tug, he takes a few steps, leading straight across the street. He could walk there pretty easily. ]

I mean, if that's what you want.

It's perfect.

[ Yeah foreigners didn't care much for that, which is what she's been having lately. Easier targets, really.

Alex steps back next to him, still holding on to his arm. He really did smell amazing, so much so that she had to let go at one point lest she just push him into an alley. It was a little embarrassing, really. Maybe once she had her fill, this feeling would just go away. ]

[ With how quickly and determined she'd been to hold on before, Shizuo does slow the pace when she unravels her arm around his. ]

You doing okay? If you're tired, we can take a rest.

[ Because what she needed was to be still next to him. That would help her rest. ]

Ah--Yes! I'm okay.

[ What was she doing? She'd never pulled away like that before. That sure was one way to give her prey the wrong idea.

She quickens her pace so she was still next to him (the guy had long legs okay), reaching out to just hold his sleeve. ]

I just..um..wasn't sure if that was uncomfortable for you.

[ Because suddenly she's worried about boundaries? ]

[ Well. That felt awkward to say. Having longer legs is why he slowed his pace down, though. ]

Ah... I thought I was walking too fast or something. Don't feel like you have to push yourself or anything.

[ That has her looking back up at him. He liked it? Because he didn't seem as receptive as the other men she's targeted before, and it had her wondering if maybe she was trying too hard. But it wasn't so much a 'it's working!' kind of feeling she was getting at that moment, but it felt nice. ]

Oh, then..[ She looks ahead as she slides her arm around his again, holding it lightly. Yes, the smell was stronger, but she also felt warmer like this and that wasn't so bad. In fact, it was more the warmth than his scent she was noticing right now. ]

I'm sturdier than I look. Just so you know.

[ She wasn't pouting. ]

Yeah? I mean, I am too, so I can't really be surprised by that.

[ But like this, he'll try to keep his pace more in mind. It was certainly hard to show a lot of things. The fact that he was pretty neutral-faced was something that had mostly been seen through the shift, even if he tried for a polite smile occasionally.

He... wasn't good at being expressive. That didn't change how much his brain was overthinking things while missing the obvious. ]

It, uh, wasn't really about being sturdy though... Not that I really know how to explain what I meant. I'm pretty shitty with words.

[ Oh, she definitely noticed that. But he tried, at least, it looked like he was trying. Which only made it more endearing. She found herself laughing a little when some customers looked almost scared when he tried to smile and it didn't go exactly as planned. ]

And yet you agreed to coffee with me?

[ She finds herself chuckling again. Normally coffee meant talking, and at his home of all places. Though maybe that would help him feel more comfortable. ]

Well, you can take your time with finding your words. There's no rush.

[ But wasn't she trying to get this done as soon as possible? ]

It's- I, uh...

[ Well, sometimes people just wanted coffee. Except they usually wouldn't go to someone's house, so he wasn't completely sure what was being hoped for or expected. He wasn't wholly sure of why he agreed to coffee with someone he never met, or was even letting them come to his apartment.

Was it actually something that normal people did? ]

I mean, I'm just bad at picking them, not the finding part.
