"Y-You're sure?"

Honestly, the reason why he's surprised is because there seemed to be a very good reason as to why most people stayed away from him. Aside from his poor social skills, at least. Even more, she was cute and really pretty to look at. So why would she want to associate with him?

"I mean, I wouldn't mind or anything. People usually don't offer that kind of thing to me."

Since she never really saw him at the school grounds, she didn't end up hearing the whispers behind his back. That, and she didn't pay much mind to rumors. Sure, she saw the bandages and bruises on his face every now and then, but that made her more concerned than scared. All she knew was that he was the boy that took the same train as her every morning, and something about him drew her to look at him.

"I am. It made the walk over here more fun..so I think walking to the train would be nice too." It probably wasn't something complete strangers offered each other in general, which was why she did feel somewhat embarrassed about asking. This was probably the boldest she'd ever been. Her friends did say she should take a chance every now and then. Although they probably didn't mean with him.

"Do you have any club activities after class?"

When they suggested her be more bold and outgoing, this is definitely not the kind of person they meant for Alex to interact with more often. If she had ever mentioned her concerns about the blond junior that occasionally had bandages on him, they would emphatically point out how he was someone who left the other side of the altercation in far worse condition.

"It made it more fun for you?" It's not that it hadn't for him, but he was more surprised that it could work out so easily. Honestly, he wasn't sure of his ability with people at all, which made it so easy to doubt that he really brightened things up.

"No- I usually just head home right after classes."

Good thing she didn't. They would have thought she was weird for just staring at some junior on the train..

"You did. I mean..even if we didn't talk much, it was kinda nice just having someone there. Does..that sound weird?" She rubs at her neck awkwardly, feeling rather bashful now.

"Oh- I do too." Alex tried to not look too eager about that. It was just a happy coincidence. "Then um..I'll..see you here later?"

Then again, if they were Alex's friends, they were probably used to a bit of weird. It was just something alongside the shy part of her.

"No," he answered almost a little too quickly. Which is what has him clearing his throat a bit. "It doesn't sound weird at all."

Was he really so absorbed in himself, and always looking down, that he never noticed her being around and on the same train this entire time? It kind of served as more proof as to why he wasn't really popular with anyone. Aside from the whole fighting thing.

"I- Ah, yeah. I guess you will. Hopefully it won't be as wet by then."

Self-absorbed definitely wasn't one of things she thought. Not when he reassured her like that.

She nods as she steps in, ready to head to her class. "But then we wouldn't need to share an umbrella," she jokes, laughing lightly as she walked away.

Only then did she realize how strange that sounded....and suddenly she felt a wave of embarrassment hit her. Now she was running, not because she was late, but because she hoped she could out run her shame.

Ah. That was right, wasn't it? That really was the only reason why she was offering to walk alongside him. So he let the third year go on to her own homeroom class as he put some things away in his locker to continue with the day.

What a... Surprisingly nice way to start the day. Not that it was going to stay that nice, with annoying friends/acquaintances in his year and some troublemakers. However it meant that he had something to look forward to after the day was done. Hopefully one where Alex didn't see some of the things that he's gotten pulled into, as she didn't seem to know who he was already. He'd kind of like to keep it that way.

Which is why he cleaned up after classes before getting to the doors. Ah, well it seems like it's still dripping a little, but the rain had mostly stopped.

Alex never really lingered when class ended, but her rush this time was for a slightly different reason. It was strange, looking forward to something as simple as walking back with someone, but she was excited about it.

She's a little out of breath by the time she makes it to the lockers, resting her hand against it as she looks around, immediately spotting him.

"Hey..I..didn't make you wait, did I?"

"Hm?"

Alright, maybe he wasn't completely expecting some senior to stick to the idea of meeting up with a younger classman. Especially someone with a reputation like his, though she seemed to be completely oblivious as to what it was.

"N-not at all. I wouldn't have been surprised if someone said you left already. Usually I'm the one that gets to this place later than others."

That's because a teacher would try to lecture him about the rules and his future, due to the fights that he'd get pulled into. Not that he'd share that part of it all.

It was the other way for her. She tended to take longer because she was helping out a teacher or two. "Is that so?," she chuckles as she grabs the umbrella, popping it open. Alex waits for him to get under before heading out into the rain.

"Not part of any clubs?"

"I'm, uh," he stalled on the answer by ducking under to walk alongside, "No. It kind of leads to things being damaged. Not on purpose- not really. Just, ah-"

When they walk outside enough, he'll point to the field where one of the soccer goals was ripped out of the ground and kinked in a few points. He may as well drop things now so she could decide whether or not to really have him under her umbrella. With the rising problem of those, however, he remembers to add something else a few moments after.

"I'm not one of those twilights- I just. Well, uh. I don't need to be tagged, so it's not like I'm going around hiding it from people."

[ It doesn't really register why he's pointing towards the goal that got messed up supposedly by some student--but the mentioning of the twilights does help make the connection. ]

Wait--that was you?

[ But he just said he wasn't a twilight. ]

Yeah... Yeah, it was.

[ Which is why he was so quick to say that he wasn't a twilight. Unlike them, he didn't have those problems. In fact, if he were one, Shizuo doubts he would've been in school still. ]

Some people tried picking a fight and I just grabbed it.

[ Except it only confused her more, because if he was capable of all that and he wasn't one, then how was he able to do it? ]

I..heard about that. But... [The version she heard was different, which was why she never would have imagined it was him. His telling made more sense though. ]

Do..people still try to pick fights with you?

[ Because there are generations that come after a Twilight, and when they don't need a regulation drug, they don't need the tags. But she'd have to ask that more directly for him to answer more on what he knows about. ]

That one was pretty recent, so... Yeah. People starting fights with me is pretty common. Usually it's because of something done on someone else's end, pushing or giving them the wrong idea about things.

[ Some honestly thought he was a Twilight and reacted based on that. Such is the life of a Supernatural. But also fuck Izaya and the problems he causes. ]
