[ And so, with Renji willing to be patient and Shizuo being too awkward to move forward, they were at a standstill until now. It was rare for him to even initiate the first kiss between them. Though Shizuo didn't know how often an omega did initiate anything. ]

Sure, I work around a lot of places. I've never paid attention to the social side of things.

[ Unless you counted movie premiers that his younger brother was in. ]

Dinner sounds good, sure. Are you going to need something tonight too?

[ While Renji could eat normal food, Shizuo knew that sometimes more was needed. At least it was possible to offer if Shizuo relaxed enough, so it didn't hurt the man so much. ]

[As Kouen overpowered the room and blasted his alpha scent on it to get Shizuo to submit, he kept overpowering him mentally and emotionally.]

Shizuo. Very well. If you will behave and submit, I will untie you.

[He grumbled, trying to think about it for a moment.]

Might be a werewolf thing? I thought somethin' might have been comin' up.

[He had been feeling a bit weird for a bit of the night, at least, but he didn't want to cause Shizuo to worry about it or anything.]

Uh, yeah, later. If you don't mind, after you eat.

[He may have been a vampire, but eating directly after he drank blood had 0 appeal for him.]

[ It had him squirming a little- not to fight the bonds, but for the uncomfortable and unfamiliar sensations his body was having. He didn't like this- this stranger was making him feel odd. ]

Submit...? I don't know what you mean by that.

Ah... Did they get into trouble last month?

[ Shizuo, you were the trouble. Not that you knew that. All you're aware of was the news report coming in after a very rambunctious work evening when some youth came across and tried to cause a bit of ruckus. He really wasn't the easiest omega to mess with, human or no. ]

I wouldn't ask if I minded. It's fine to choose it at either of our places if you want.

[ Which is actually progress from the guy! He's not good at opening up and taking progressive steps with this whole thing, so it's more significant than it'd be from more normal people. ]

[He wasn't there when Shizuo caused those issues, but he's not there to follow around and stalk him.]

Uh... your place. Mine's got my roommate in a bit of a feedin' frenzy.

Huh... Okay then.

[ He didn't really remember who Renji's roommate was, or if that was normal, but it didn't really matter too much? He offered his own space, and no one lived with him, so there was no need to ask about it. ]

Anywhere's fine. Even the burger place on the corner.

[ At this point it just depends on whether any of the food he eats goes through and affects the way his blood tastes. Shizuo isn't picky, past a couple of things. Which was no beer or bitter flavors. That was it. ]

Yeah, that's fine. So long as I can get somethin' to drink.

[Renji enjoyed beer and so long as Shizuo didn't mind that he drank it nearby, then he wouldn't be bothered by his desire to not.]

Maybe somethin' for dessert too? Your blood tastes real good when it's sweeter.

[Humming lightly as they head towards it.]

Never bothered me before.

[ It's more that he didn't want to be drinking the beer himself- People had and made their own choices.

He does get quiet for a little bit at that other part- luckily it was dark enough that the faint color in his ears weren't really visible; especially with the length of his hair. ]

Ah... I can always grab a milkshake or something. Would that work?

[He just grins as he looks at Shizuo, not sure if he noticed anything different. Smiling at him.]

Yeah, that'd be perfect. Just be careful, okay? Otherwise you might smell too good.

[Teasing and moving in closer to get a bit of a sniff.]

[ Shizuo is certainly a lot more subtle than most people, and even more so when it came to omegas. He didn't really know how to be openly receptive in the first place. Which is partially why he's quietly wondered how he got into any kind of relationship, though he wasn't exactly allowed to ask that.

Scratching behind the further side's ear, while there wasn't any other kind of response, his head tilted just enough to expose his neck just a little bit more towards the teased sniff. ]

I was thinking maybe chocolate.

[God, every time he smells Shiuzo, he wants to claim him. Take him home and ruin him over and over and over again. He sniffs on him and licks it lightly.]

[ Nothing.

Nothing smelled good tonight. Not even a little bit appetizing. This was probably the third bar tonight, but like the day before, and the day before that, none of her meals have been satisfying. Sure, it was mostly to survive, but Alex wanted to at least enjoy her meals.

Maybe she's just been at it for too long? She was changed a while back, sure, though it wasn't that long. It was a little more thrilling then, that power, being able to get back at all those men who did her wrong. But now, it was like needing a glass of water. Nothing enticing about it.

Even when her food was practically throwing itself at her, Alex felt nothing. In fact, she was pretty much zoning out as this one guy tried to chat her up by the bar, only giving her attention when she felt his hand on her thigh, her eyes glancing down at it. ]

Sorry, but I'd like to enjoy my drink alone.

[ Because even beer smelled better than this wretch. ]

Aw come on, you were the one looking at me. [ Actually she was staring at the wall, but then you blocked her view. Maybe she should just take him to the back and drain him...But effort. ]

[ Coming out from the back with supplies, there was a quick scan given to the area to make sure nothing needed to be tended to immediately. Fights being the most common example by this time in the evening. This particular bar was popular for work gatherings, but that didn't mean it didn't have its trouble in spades.

For example, as he saw one of them practically leaning and drooling over another customer.

What else was he to do but pull the guy, who sadly didn't have to be drunk to cause these problems, and distance him from the woman. ]

This is the third damn time this week you tried to pull shit like this. Out.

[ While the guy was stumbling over words, and his feet, at this point Shizuo was done caring about appearances. He stuck to the rules and guidelines that were put in place, so it wasn't like his job was at risk as he spun the guy around and shoved him out the door. ]

[bartenderizing]

[ There's a forced swallow as he felt the tongue lightly go across his neck. Not knowing how to show what he wanted really didn't mean he didn't feel anything from that, or by just being around the vampire. ]

Just good, not too good?

[ It wasn't so much how he pulled the man away, but the scent coming from him that had Alex looking up, eyes wide. Not to say strong and sturdy weren't good qualities as well, but it was like discovering a brand new craving. Alex could practically feel herself salivating.

She catches herself in a daze and snaps out of it before she just walks over and bites the guy in public. ]

Ah--You didn't...need to intervene..but thank you.

[ For a moment, she'd forgotten how to act in front of potential prey. She straightens herself out, trying to compose herself again. ]

[ Oddly enough, in a way that Shizuo never realized, he always had an appealing scent to non-humans. Something that was never made obvious enough that the man realized there were more kinds of people in the world, or that this was a likely factor in his past troubles.

Glancing over at the thanks, Shizuo glanced over before averting his eyes at the woman. She was beautiful, no doubt about that, but it was also rude to stare. Especially with his height, and where people assumed he'd be staring because of it. ]

It's, uh, kind of my job to make sure the drunk customers don't harrass anyone else here. So I kinda did.

[ She recognized the way he averted his gaze. Usually it was the shy ones who did that-- it was appreciated, though she didn't mind either way.

He was a handsome one to boot. A lot of vampires ad an aesthetic that appealed to them, but Alex only did this to feed. She didn't want to be a vampire, didn't choose it along with many other things in her life. She embraced it in her own way, which was to survive.

But this...she almost felt like indulging in. But he seemed nice. She didn't like to target the nice ones. But why else would she want to talk to him? ]

You were just doing your job.

[ Talking was supposed to be easy though...but god was that smell distracting. ]

Um--can I thank you with a drink?

Ah...

[ A nervous laugh came out, though it was more of a 'heh' than anything else, as he scratched the back of his head. ]

It'll be dumb to hear, given where I work, but I don't actually drink the kind of things here.

[ A bartender that didn't drink. Yup. But he did start walking back to go behind the bar. The scent of alcohol was purely from the job, though the smell of cigarettes was deeper and more personal for the blond. ]

I feel like I should offer you a refill as an apology for the harassment, honestly.

I won’t say no that, but that doesn’t make us even. [ Well, there were those that were recovering alcoholics that found being around imthe source helped their control. But maybe he just wasn’t a drinker?

She stands from the stool, peering up at him a little eagerly, leanif closer just a tad. ]

What about coffee then?

Coffee?

[ That's certainly an offer he's not used to getting, and it shows with his expression. Of course he reasons it's out of guilt, or something like that, but still.

It... Was hard to say no. ]

Uh... Sometimes I drink coffee, yeah.

[ Has he not been asked out to coffee before? Alex chuckles, but not to make fun of him. ]

What time are you off? Maybe that can be one of your sometimes.

[ You never know how delicate one might be about their coffee offers, after all. ]

That could actually be a while from now. Sometimes it's as late as 3am.

[ It depended on the business flow, really. ]

Perfect. [ Good thing she was a night owl. ]

I’ll see you after three then, .....? [ She holds her hand out, waiting for him to fill in the blanks. ]

[ Generally humans wanted to pass out after closing a store, but Shizuo didn't really have the experience in telling pretty ladies no. Which is why, while he hesitates a moment, he loosely accepts the hand. ]
